HSC's New Membership Policy - the long and short of it.

What's with all of the angst about the new membership policy?  Why are so many complaining?  Is it the money? the "being an active member" part?

I don't get it, the reason someone joins a club is to become involved with a group that is doing something that you "like" to do.  When a January lake-effect storm hits, I don't hear anyone complaining that they can't seem to find any time to go ride...give me a break, most of us jump at the chance and drop everything to go riding all day and night, and then some.  This is where I get confused.  Why aren't these same people as eager to help set up and tear down the very trails they enjoy so much?  If everyone chipped in just 2 or 3 hours on a Saturday, the trails would be ready to go in ONE WEEKEND!

Can anyone offer some sane commentary on this topic?  What say you Club members?
